Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy” or “AUP”) applies to your use of the website located at https://mobilesms.io (“Site”), the MobileSMS.io mobile application (“App”), our APIs, and all related products and services provided by Reliable Channel LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) (collectively, the “Services”).

This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the MobileSMS.io Terms of Service (“Terms”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings in the Terms. By using the Services, you agree to comply with this Policy.

This Policy exists to protect us, our customers, our upstream providers and carriers, and the telecommunications ecosystem from abuse, fraud, and illegal activity.


1) Zero Tolerance & Enforcement

1.1 Zero tolerance

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for activity involving fraud, phishing, unauthorized account access, harassment, child exploitation, terrorism, or other serious harm.

1.2 Immediate action

We may, at any time and in our sole discretion, suspend, restrict, throttle, or terminate your account and access to the Services without notice if we believe you violated this Policy, the Terms, applicable law, or if your activity presents risk to us, our upstream providers/carriers, or others.

1.3 No refunds

Accounts terminated for Policy violations forfeit unused Credits and are not eligible for refunds, to the extent permitted by law.

1.4 Reporting & cooperation

We may report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement or other authorities and comply with lawful requests.

1.5 Preservation

We may preserve relevant logs, metadata, and message records for investigations and legal compliance.

2) Account Responsibility

You are responsible for your own conduct and anyone using the Services through your account (including anyone who has your credentials or access to your API keys). You must secure your credentials and keys, and ensure your use complies with this Policy, the Terms, and all applicable laws.

3) System Integrity & Abuse (Prohibited)

You may not misuse the Services or interfere with our ability to provide them to others. Prohibited behavior includes:

  • API abuse / scraping: Excessive polling, scraping number inventory, or generating load that degrades performance.
  • Bypassing controls: Attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, anti-fraud controls, geo/velocity limits, or free-trial restrictions.
  • Sockpuppets / account cycling: Creating multiple accounts to evade enforcement, limits, bans, or payment requirements.
  • Reverse engineering: Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to discover source code or underlying algorithms.
  • Security attacks: Probing, scanning, DDoS, flooding, credential stuffing, or other disruptive activity.
  • Number fishing/cycling: Rapidly cycling large volumes of numbers to “hunt” for certain services, patterns, or acceptance behavior.

4) Authorization Required (OTP/2FA and Account Access)

You must only use numbers to receive verification codes for accounts/services you own or are explicitly authorized to access.

You are strictly prohibited from using the Services to:

  • receive OTP/2FA codes to access accounts you are not authorized to control;
  • facilitate account takeover, password resets, or unauthorized access; or
  • obtain codes on behalf of others for unauthorized purposes.

5) Prohibited Illegal, Fraudulent, or Harmful Activity

You may not use the Services for any illegal, deceptive, abusive, or harmful activity, including:

  • Phishing/smishing, impersonation, social engineering, identity theft
  • Financial crime (stolen payment methods, chargeback fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion)
  • Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, or privacy invasion
  • Sale/distribution of illegal goods or controlled substances
  • Child exploitation or any related material (will be reported as required)

6) Spam and Unsolicited Communications (Including “Reply-Catcher” Workflows)

Even if you use the Services primarily to receive messages, you may not use them to facilitate spam or unsolicited messaging, including:

  • using numbers as reply-catchers for spam campaigns sent via other providers;
  • harvesting leads/responses from unsolicited messaging;
  • building/validating lists through unsolicited communications; or
  • OTP flooding / OTP bombing intended to harass individuals or disrupt services.

7) Account Farming, Ban Evasion, and “Verified Account” Markets (Prohibited)

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Account farming (mass creation, aging, or maintaining accounts for resale or distribution)
  • Ban evasion (creating new accounts to bypass platform enforcement)
  • Selling or transferring “verified accounts” created using numbers from our Services
  • Using the Services to circumvent third-party KYC/identity requirements or geographic restrictions

8) High-Risk Categories and Restricted Uses

To protect deliverability and comply with provider/carrier standards, you may not use the Services in connection with:

  • “SHAFT” categories (Sex/adult content, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco/nicotine)
  • Gambling, lotteries, sweepstakes, betting
  • Payday loans / predatory lending / debt collection
  • MLM / pyramid schemes
  • Counterfeit goods, stolen data, credential markets, cracking tools
  • Any activity that materially increases carrier/provider compliance risk (as determined by us)

9) Resale / Bureau Use (Prohibited Without Written Agreement)

Unless you have a written reseller or enterprise agreement with Reliable Channel LLC, you may not:

  • resell numbers or Services to third parties;
  • provide access to numbers as a “bureau,” marketplace, or managed service for unrelated end users; or
  • embed our Services into another product where users are unaware of the underlying provider.

10) Investigations and Proof

We may review account activity, logs, metadata, and (when reasonably necessary) message content to investigate abuse and enforce this Policy. We may request information to verify compliant use (e.g., use-case description, identity/payment verification). Failure to cooperate may result in suspension or termination.

11) Updates to This Policy

We may update this Policy at any time by posting a revised version and updating the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
